The Butler BlueSox beat the visiting West Virginia Miners on Saturday night by a final of 5-1.
With the win the Sox improved their season record against the Miners to 10-5, and also maintained their top position in the Prospect League East by four games.
James Meeker started on the mound for the Sox, and Rey Gonzalez drove in two runs as the team’s DH. The win was the Sox’ fourth consecutive, and improves their overall record to 33-21. The Sox are also 18-6 since the All-Star showcase.
West Virginia and Butler will play once again in Butler on Sunday afternoon, with a 4:05pm first pitch.
