The Prospect League announced it post-season awards Thursday. Butler BlueSox first baseman David Marcus collected both the Mike Schmidt Player of the Year award and the Roland Hemond Pro Prospect of the Year award. Marcus was named Player of the Week three times during the season and led the league in home runs (11), RBIs (49), total bases (134), doubles (18), extra–‐base hits (30), slugging percentage (.601), and finished fourth in batting average (.363). Marcus was also named to the league’s post-season All-Star team along with relief pitcher Zach Spangler, who set the league’s all-time save record with 19 this season.
