The Columbus Blue Jackets have tied the Pittsburgh Penguins for second place in the Metropolitan Division heading into tomorrow night’s game. The Blue Jackets defeated Detroit 5-4 last night. Both teams have 96 points.
Philadelphia remains two points behind after losing to the New York Islanders 5-4 last night. The Flyers have 94 points and were passed by New Jersey, who defeated the New York Rangers 5-2. The Devils now have 95 points. Each of the teams have two games remaining in the regular season.
The Penguins have already clinched a playoff spot. The other three teams, along with Florida are battling for playoff spots.
In the Atlantic Division, Tampa Bay defeated Boston 4-0 and have tied the Bruins for first place. Boston has three games remaining. Tampa Bay has two. Each have clinched playoff berths.
