All pets and their owners are welcome to attend a special local event this weekend.
“We have a little service and then each pet is blessed individually. Then each animal will receive a certificate and a cross that they can put on their collar or display somewhere that their pet has been blessed.”
Robin Miller from Thompson Miller Funeral Home is referring to the 11th annual Blessing of the Animals and Pet Fair scheduled for this Sunday, May 7th from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the General Butler Vagabond Center.
There is no admission charged for this event but there will be a basket raffle to benefit a deserving non-profit organization.
“We do this to raise money for an organization that we are in love with called Canine Companions for Independence. It is a non-profit, fantastic organization. They distribute dogs to people who are physically challenged and that also includes veterans at absolutely no charge.”
In addition to the pet blessing and basket raffle, a wide variety of vendors will have tables set up with all sorts of pet supplies, information and services.
