A new bill aims to improve the reporting of drug overdose data in the state.
The bill would require law enforcement and emergency medical services agencies within 72 hours to a statewide overdose information network.
However, the bill did not receive unanimous support. Democratic State Representative Emily Kinkead of Allegheny County.
“This is a bill that really just opens the door to criminalize people with addiction issues further than we already do,” Kinkead said.
The bill did get voted out of committee and now moves to the full state house.
