A state lawmaker is looking to establish a public awareness campaign to provide more information about the mental health of first responders.
Representative Wendi Thomas of Bucks County says the idea comes after a state hearing involving first responders, who said other states were getting ready to launch a mental health campaign.
“This campaign would simply make them aware that there is no stigma, no harm in reaching out and getting support for the stress that they’ve been through during this pandemic,” Thomas said.
The campaign would run through the Department of Human Services. The bill now moves to the full House.
