The Big Ten announced its football schedule Wednesday. Penn State will open against Northwestern at Beaver Stadium Labor Day weekend. The Nittany Lions are planning to open fall practice tomorrow.
Pine-Richland grad Phil Jurkovec has been cleared to become the starting quarterback at Boston College, and receiving an immediate eligibility waiver from the NCAA after transferring from Notre Dame. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
The University of Connecticut is the first Division I school to cancel its football season this fall.
