A local Butler Health System doctor will receive national recognition at a ceremony next month.
Dr. Jeffrey Astbury will be designated as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology at the 66th Annual Scientific Session on Sunday, March 19 in Washington, D.C.
Fellows are elected based on outstanding credentials, community contributions to cardiovascular medicine and recommendations from peers. Dr. Astbury is one of 15 physicians in the country to be certified four times by the American Board of Echocardiography.
Dr. Astbury is the Director of Cardiovascular Anesthesiology at Butler Health System, which has the best cardiac surgery Healthgrades scores in the state as well as in the top 5 percent of the country, according to the Butler Health System.
