A Butler Health System nurse has been chosen as an honoree for Pittsburgh Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing award for this year.
Melisse Maser is Butler Memorial Hospital’s stroke program coordinator. According to BHS, Maser created and leads the interdisciplinary stroke team, and also created a stroke rapid response team and protocol.
She holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and has worked as an advanced practice nurse from the past 13 years.
Pittsburgh Magazine says nurses are nominated by their peers and selected by a panel. An awards reception will be held in December.
