Family and friends will say goodbye to a local coaching legend today.
Paul “Red” Uram died Friday.
Uram graduated from Butler High School and Slippery Rock State College and had a long career in physical education and coaching. He was an athlete himself- a gymnast and member of the U.S. Gymnastics Hall of Fame, a track runner and a football player.
His success in coaching eventually led him to the NFL where he was a conditioning coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 70s and early 80s. He won four Super Bowl rings with them.
Paul Uram was 91 years old.
