State police are investigating a serious crash that happened on I-79 yesterday afternoon sent two people to the hospital, including a Beaver County police officer.
The accident happened in Lancaster Township near mile marker 91 in the northbound lane around 4 p.m.
State police say a vehicle that was driving southbound crossed into the median and then into the northbound lane.
It collided into another car causing significant damage with entrapment.
New Sewickley Police posted to Facebook and said 43-year-old Corporal Gregory Carney was involved in the crash along with an unnamed 68-year-old woman from Erie.
Both drivers had to be taken to Pittsburgh hospitals. Their current condition is unknown.
