Butler County Community College is participating in a nationwide initiative to take a stand against sexual assault on campus.
The platform is called “It’s On Us,” which is part of a larger initiative across the United States to stop assaults on campuses.
BC3 President Dr. Nick Neupauer attended a recent gathering of college and university presidents who all pledged a commitment to change the culture surrounding sexual assault.
“It was a pledge from whoever was interested in pledging and all 14 of us (community colleges in the state) did sign on. I represented the 14 community colleges, and stated that we will go forward and educate college age students on sexual assault,” Neupauer explained.
BC3 is planning on utilizing tools like social media to help students determine what action can be taken in different scenarios.
