Helicopters will be circling Butler County Community College in Butler Township Wednesday for a training exercise.
The Pennsylvania Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team will conduct the training between noon and 4:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Training Facility on BC3’s main campus. UH-60 Blackhawks, which are twin-engine utility helicopters- are set to arrive between 11 a.m. and noon.
The training exercise will focus on what would happen if a hurricane impacted a large urban area and additional crews from outside areas had to be flown to the scene to assist.
Local organizations including the Butler County Medical and Water Rescue teams and the South Butler Volunteer Fire Department will participate.
