The Butler County Community College Men’s Golf team topped CCAC-Boyce Tuesday. Tyler Good tied for medalist with an 81 at Lake Arthur. BC3 is now 8-1.
High School Sports Scores:
Boys Golf:
–Adam Bushee of Seneca Valley led the WPIAL Individual Sectional qualifier Tuesday for Section-3 with a -1 under 69 at Cranberry Highlands. Teammate Zach Brown had a 70. Seneca Valley’s Paul Lopicollo and Mark McNulty each had 71’s. Butler’s Brayden Setnar had a 75.
–The Moniteau Boys won the final District-9 Mega-Match and the regular season title. Weston Kimmey shot a 37 and led District-9 for the season with an average of 38.
–The Freeport Boys defeated St. Joseph 217-225.
Girls Golf:
–Butler defeated Mars 183-187. Hannah Folk led Butler with a 42, as the Golden Tornado improved to 8-2 overall and 7-1 in their section. Natalie Welsh of Mars was the medalist with a 40.
Boys Soccer:
–North Allegheny-2 Butler-0.
–Freeport-6 Derry-1. Bryce Handy led the Yellow Jackets with two goals. Freeport is now 6-0-1 overall and 4-0-1 in their section.

–CW North Catholic-11 Aquinas Academy-0. Joe Kearney had a hat trick for the Trojans. He now leads the WPIAL with 25 goals thsi season.

Cross Country:
–The Butler Boys Cross Country Team continued it season Tuesday in a nail-biter but, a tough loss to the defending WPIAL Champion Seneca Valley boys – the loss came on a tie breaker after a 28-28 deadlock. Course record-setter Noah Beveridge, led the Tornado once again in 16:49 and was followed by Brett Brady 4th, Aden Dressler 5th, Robbie Hays 7th, and the outstanding running of Freshman Skyler Vavro in 13th overall. The Butler Boys are 3 and 1 on the season.
–For the girls it was again a split decision topping Pine-Richland 25 to 30 but, falling to cross county rival Seneca Valley in a highly competitive race 25 to 34. Once again the Tornado were led by the outstanding performance of All-State performer Maggie Welty who set a course record with a winning time of 20:41. Helping to make it a close meet were some outstanding efforts by Sophomore Autumn Pettinato in 3rd.
