Tests still show higher-than-acceptable levels of lead in the water in three locations at the Butler Intermediate High School.
Superintendent Dr. Brian White provided an update on the situation to the school board during a meeting on Monday.
Water engineers believe the issue is not a facility-wide issue, but rather a localized issue, with one particular line likely causing the elevated readings. Eleven other samples taken from other locations within the Intermediate School came back OK.
Independent of these results, the district is looking into purchasing water fountains with built-in filters for lead and other contaminants. A timeline and a budget have yet to be addressed.
