The Butler Area School District is contracting with a company to help them develop a survey for staff and parents.
At a school board meeting Tuesday, the board voted to enter into an agreement with Campos Research and Strategy for an initial fee of $6,500, plus $200 per hour up to $10,000 on an as-needed basis. Campos will assist the district in writing survey questions but the district will actually administer the survey.
The goal for the survey is to provide a benchmark on the state of the district so that the board and administrators are able to set goals and then compare these results to survey results in the future. Superintendent Dr. Dale Lumley is also planning on sending out a letter of explanation about the survey to district staff members.
The money for this expense will come from funds that were budgeted to be spent in other areas where there turned out to be no need.
