The Butler Area School Board will be voting at their next meeting on awarding a contract for professional marketing and realtor services for the former Broad Street elementary school property.
The board received two responses to the request for proposal that they issued in December. The first from Keffalas Real Estate Incorporated is for 6% of the final gross sales price. The second from The Thomas Walker team at Northwood Realty is for 8% of the selling price.
Since this is a request for proposal and not a bid solicitation, the board is not obligated to only consider the offers based on how much money they would make for the district.
The board has not heard back from a group of three local people who expressed interest in the facility as a religious based youth center back in November.
