A Butler County school district superintendent was recognized Thursday by a regional council.
Butler School District Superintendent Dr. Brian White was named the 2018 Distinguished Educator by the University of Pittsburgh’s Tri-State Area School Study Council.
The distinguished educator award was established in the early 80s to recognize individuals who have shown exceptional leadership and made “extraordinary contributions” to the field of education.
White was hired by the Butler School Board last year after former superintendent Dr. Dale Lumley resigned after it was discovered that there were high levels of lead in the drinking water at one of the district’s elementary schools.
