The Butler School Board is beginning the process to bid out athletic training services for their student athletes.
The district is currently in the final year of a $42,000 contract with Novacare, who provides two trainers to the district.
Athletic Director Bill Mylan would like to see a third, full-time trainer added to the staff with a specialty in sports performance training.
With 55 teams at Butler, safety is a concern with only two trainers. Most other districts of similar size in the area have three or four trainers.
