The Butler Area School District remains concerned about the ongoing situation with the state budget.
Superintendent Dr. Dale Lumley and Director of Business Services Deborah Brandstetter attended a seminar last week following Governor Tom Wolf’s latest budget address.
A new formula would provide the district with over $500,000 in additional state funds in the governor’s plan for fiscal year 2016-2017. However, over $2 million still due to Butler is part of the ongoing dispute over the 2015-16 budget.
Although the district is not having financial difficulties at this point, their line of credit expires at the end of June. Any money they would need to borrow would have to be paid back by then.
