The Butler Area School Board is continuing to take steps in anticipation of borrowing money to pay for upcoming construction.
The board has given approval for a Request for Proposal, or RFP, to be sent out for on-call architectural and engineering services. The district’s deadline for receiving proposals is Nov. 9. The district’s current on-call architectural and engineering services provider, Stantec, will also be considered to continue in that role.
Depending on water testing results from Summit Elementary, those services could be needed to plan for the replacement of interior pipes. The services could also be used if and when the district decides to borrow money to pay for needed capital project improvements and repairs.
Superintendent Dr. Brian White is working to finalize a list of needed work and an order of priority. That information is expected to be presented and a vote taken on issuing bonds at the board’s Nov. 13 meeting.
