The Butler Area School Board has appointed an acting Director of Business Services.
After having some difficulty encouraging retired candidates to take the position on an interim basis, acting superintendent Dr. William Pettigrew recommended Carrie Black act in the role at this time.
Black has been working in the District’s Business office for the past 14 months and will collect a salary to be determined. There would be a lengthy training period for someone unfamiliar with the forms and requirements necessary at a school business office. Pettigrew also recommended that the district’s next superintendent be allowed to have input on a permanent replacement.
Former Director of Business Services Deb Brandstetter was approved by the board to consult with Black as determined necessary by Pettigrew at a rate of about $53 per hour. Also fulfilling duties formerly held by Brandstetter, Pamela Kaylor was named acting Board Secretary and acting Right to Know Officer for the district.
