It’s going to be a crowded ballot in both the Senate and Governor races this spring.
The deadline passed for candidates to submit their nominating petitions yesterday.
So here’s the breakdown:
- 10 Republican candidates qualified for the ballot in the race for governor.
- Lou Barletta, former Congressman
- Joe Gale, Montgomery County Commissioner
- Jake Corman, state senator
- Charlie Gerow, conservative activist
- Melissa Hart, former Congresswoman
- Doug Mastriano, state senator
- Jason Richey, Pittsburgh-based attorney
- Bill McSwain, former U.S. attorney
- Dave White, Delaware County businessman
- Nche Zama, heart surgeon
- Meanwhile, Josh Shapiro was the only Democrat to be on the ballot.
- In the Republican race for Senate, there are seven total candidates.
- Kathy Barnette, conservative commentator and activist
- Jeff Bartos, former Lt. Gov. candidate and real estate executive
- Dave McCormick, former hedge fund manager
- Mehmet Oz, doctor and television host
- Carla Sands, former ambassador in Trump administration
- George Bochetto, Philadelphia lawyer
- Sean Gale, lawyer
- The Democratic primary will feature five candidates.
- John Fetterman, current Lt. Governor and former Braddock mayor
- Conor Lamb, Congressman of the 17th District
- Malcom Kenyatta, state Senator from Philadelphia
- Alex Khalil, liberal activist
- Kevin Baumlin, doctor based in Philadelphia
