The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Houston Astros 7-4 thanks to a walk-off three-run home run by Ji Hwan Bae in the ninth inning. The victory came after David Bednar allowed the Astros to tie the game in the top of the inning. After his first blown save of the season, Bednar earned his first victory.
Ji-Man Choi and Jack Suwinski also hit home runs for the Pirates. Bae and Choi became the first Korean-born teammates to hit home runs in the same major league game. Mitch Keller allowed two runs over six innings. He walked two and struck out seven.
The Bucs and Astros complete their three-game series this afternoon at PNC Park. First pitch is 12:35pm. Pre-game on WISR follows the noon news. Rich Hill will start for the Pirates.
The Pirates head to St. Louis after the game to begin a seven-game road trip.
