A deadline has been extended for veterans to sign up for full backdated health care benefits under the new PACT Act.
Officials say as a result of some recent technical difficulties with the government website due to extremely high demand, veterans can now apply or submit intent to file by the end of Monday, August 14th.
This legislation expanded and extended eligibility for permanent VA health care and benefits—especially for post-9/11 veterans who may have been exposed to burn pits and other toxins during military deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
There is no deadline to file future claims for PACT benefits.
