Four Butler County school districts are welcoming students back to class today: South Butler, Mars, Seneca Valley and A-C Valley.
A total of over 3,300 Mars students will be attending the Primary Center, Elementary, Centennial, Middle and High Schools this year. All grade levels will participate in a program called ‘Rachel’s Challenge’ to reduce bullying and improve school culture in a positive way.
Students and parents in the Seneca Valley School District should remember about the change in start and dismissal times this year. Students in kindergarten through sixth grade will begin at 8:55 a.m. and end at 3:25 p.m.; while older students start the school day at 8:09 a.m. and conclude at 2:41 p.m.
Students in Allegheny Township, Butler County will be heading back to Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District in Foxburg, which is the only district in the state to be located across four counties (Armstrong, Butler, Clarion and Venango).
After a year interrupted by a nearly three week-long teacher strike, many at South Butler are excited for a fresh start beginning today.
