As the weather turns cold, work on the Butler Senior High School construction projects continues to progress.
The Butler Area School District Board of Directors heard an update Monday night from the district’s construction manager on the Auxiliary Gym project as well as the classroom expansion project.
The exterior ramp of the Auxiliary Gym addition is complete with only a handrail still to finish. Change orders totaling just over $9,000 were necessary to add return air duct-work. The facility could be used Friday.
The Board also approved change orders for the classroom expansion including installation of sprinklers in the existing structure as well as water piping totaling nearly $93,000. Crews now have about 80% of the roof installed so work can continue regardless of outdoor conditions.
