Concerns have been raised about how the demolition of the former Worsleys building will affect the Penn Theater.
Authority Operations Manager Veronica Walker informed members of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler that the demolition has exposed the north wall of the theater to the outside elements.
There is a fear that open joints could lead to expanding and crumbling as a result of winter weather.
The Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation has been made aware of the problem in their role of the organization who provided the money to allow the Redevelopment Authority to purchase the Penn Theater. A request for comment from a representative of the PHLF was not immediately returned.
