An investigation is ongoing into recent fraudulent activity that occurred at an Armstrong County personal care home.
According to State Police, 41-year-old Carrie Leway is accused of fraudulently signing checks of a now deceased member of a Gilpin Township personal care home. Authorities say that the five checks totaled over $110,000, and were deposited after the victim’s death in late February.
It was not immediately known how Leway was able to obtain the victim’s personal checks.
