A well-known, non-fiction author is coming to Butler to talk about the origins of the opiate epidemic.
Sam Quinones will be speaking from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Founders Hall on the campus of Butler County Community College.
Quinones is the author of the award-winning 2015 book “Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic.” The book focuses on how addiction has devastated hundreds of rural towns and suburbs across America.
Quinones has been a veteran reporter with the L.A. Times for ten years, where he wrote on topics including immigration, drugs, gangs and the border region.
This event is free and open to the public.
