Pennsylvania’s Auditor General Tim DeFoor was at Butler County Community College’s main campus yesterday touring the school and talking with students about opportunities in the Auditor General’s office.
One of the first decisions DeFoor made when entering office was to only require an associate’s degree to be hired. Now DeFoor is highlighting an “internship to hire” program while touring community colleges in Pennsylvania.
The internship to hire program hires students up to six months after graduation with a degree related to business, accounting, math, or cyber security.
The program also allows people to work from home and attend a four-year university while working. DeFoor views this plan as an opportunity to recruit the next generation of leaders.
Before being hired from the internship to a full-time position student would need to complete 900 hours of work.
