Local attorney Jennifer Gilliland Vanasdale has also announced her candidacy for judge in the county of Butler.
Vanasdale was a founding member of the law firm Gilliland Vanasdale Sinatra, which has offices in both the city of Butler and Cranberry Township.
The next judge elected to the Butler County Court of Common Pleas is expected to serve in family court. In a statement, Vanasdale said the people of Butler County have been “deprived of appropriate leadership in family court under President Judge Thomas Doerr for too long.”
She pointed to the fact that her, and her firm, have handled hundreds, if not thousands, of family court cases, and that her experience in advocating for families makes her uniquely qualified to serve.
“I will work hard for all people of Butler County to administer justice in a fair and impartial manner,” she said.
Vanasdale is currently representing the woman suing Judge Doerr for harassment following a multi-year sexual relationship.
