No one was hurt in a Sunday afternoon fire that destroyed a mobile home in Slippery Rock.
The fire started around 4 p.m. on Orchard Park Lane.
Assistant Chief of the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company Al Taggart said someone had attempted to thaw frozen water pipes with a torpedo heater under the trailer earlier in the day. That was the cause of the fire.
“The center of the trailer was fully engulfed in flames when we arrived and it spread pretty quickly,” Taggart said.
There were six people inside the trailer at the time of the fire and all escaped safely. Two people live at the home and they are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
