The Atlanta Braves avoided a series sweep by the Pittsburgh Pirates following a 14-3 victory Wednesday afternoon at PNC Park. The Pirate bullpen fell apart after they had built a 3-2 lead by the sixth inning.
The game was delayed more than an hour due to weather in the seventh inning.
Catcher Jacob Stallings hit his sixth home run of the season to give the Bucs an early lead. Adam Frazier had two hits and continues to maintain the second-highest batting average in the National League.
The Pirates open a four-game series with the New York Mets tonight. Game time is 7:10pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am beginning at 6:45pm. The Pirates have lost their past four games at the Mets Citi Field in Queens.
