State police in Butler are investigating an assault that took place at Switchback Racetrack on North Main St. in Clay Twp.
According to the police report, on November 5, 2017, 39-year-old Mary Ann Matthews of Petrolia, PA started a physical altercation in the womens restroom with a 54-year-old female from Rimersburg, PA. Matthews reportedly struck and choked the unnamed victim until a 13-year-old female witnessed the attack and assisted in freeing the victim. She then fled the scene and has since avoided police contact.
Charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
