A local man is facing several charges following an assault that occurred last month in the city of Butler.
According to a criminal complaint, City police responded to the 100 block of East North Street on the afternoon of November 14th for a fight in progress.
In speaking with both the elderly male victim and a witness, police were able to determine that 25-year-old Julian Bindernagel got into a verbal argument with the victim that escalated into a physical assault. Bindernagel allegedly used a smoking pipe as a weapon to hit the victim.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officers were able to view video footage of the fight which also damaged the side of a vehicle. Bindernagel was booked into the Butler County Prison on charges including felony aggravated assault.
