A local company is continuing to help feed the hungry in our community.
Armstrong’s ‘Breaking Bread’ initiative is in another year, collecting nonperishable food and other items to donate to local food banks and soup kitchens.
Special events will be held at various locations throughout the county on Wednesday morning, including in downtown Butler’s Diamond Park. Anyone who brings a nonperishable food donation between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. will receive a free cup of coffee.
Armstrong’s Daneen O’Donnell says one in eight Americans struggle with hunger.
“It can be anyone,” she said.
Donations are collected year-round at Armstrong’s local offices. The special collections are being held this month because September is Hunger Action Month.
