In the wake of an inmate escape, Armstrong County officials plan to give residents a first look at its new public emergency alert system.
County officials and reps from the Armstrong County 911 Center will demonstrate Monday how the nearly $30,000 system will work. The system should be in place by January.
To receive an alert (either by cell, landline, email or social media), residents must register with the county. It will allow officials to alert county residents of any kind of emergency immediately.
