Armstrong kicks off their 7th annual Avenge Hunger Month tomorrow.
The initiative is a part of Armstrong’s Breaking Bread program, which aims to fight hunger across the area.
During Avenge Hunger Month, local Armstrong stores will compete to collect non-perishable food, monetary donations, and volunteer hours for local feeding programs through October 6th.
The first Avenge Hunger Month was held in 2018 and since that time the initiative has raised nearly $90,000 and has collected over 166,000 pounds of food.
Armstrong says much of the success of the program comes from community partners who help to collect donations including Butler County employees and Connoquenessing elementary school.
