An Armstrong County woman is facing involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of her 11-year-old son, who overdosed on methadone.
Bobbie Jo Truckley, 36, of New Bethlehem was arraigned Thursday and released on bond.
Police say Dustin Truckley Jr. was found dead Dec. 18 in his bedroom by his father. An autopsy and a toxicology test showed he had overdosed on methadone, a powerful prescription painkiller.
Bobbie Jo reportedly told investigators the methadone belonged to her.
Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers said the case should serve as a wake-up call and remind parents that prescription medication needs to be locked up so kids can’t get into it.
