A Kittanning woman will be charged with theft after allegedly stealing a large amount of money from businesses in Armstrong County.
The State Police teamed up with the Kittanning Borough Police for a recently completed investigation into 62-year-old Beverly Steffey.
Police say that between 2010 and 2015 Steffey was the financial officer and accountant for the Progressive Workshop of Armstrong County, the Allegheny Valley Land Trust, and the Armstrong County Conservancy Charitable Trust.
After the businesses notified police that money was missing, a forensic accountant determined that Steffey allegedly forged checks and stole money as she was paying bills.
