The Armstrong Group of Companies has acquired a local plumbing and heating company.
Renfrew-based Ken McDonald Plumbing & Heating, a mechanical contractor offering heating, air-conditioning and plumbing services to residences and businesses primarily in Butler, Venango, Armstrong, Mercer, Lawrence, Beaver, Clarion and Allegheny counties, is now owned by Armstrong. The company announced Friday that the transaction has been completed.
In a statement, Armstrong said the acquisition of McDonald fits into the company’s strategy of owning and growing regional businesses that it can bring value to and expand in western Pennsylvanian and nationally.
“Our acquisition of McDonald provides an initial platform to enter the mechanical contracting business, and it complements our overall knowledge of serving our customers’ needs in home and business automation,” Dru A. Sedwick, President & CEO of AGOC, said in a statement. “We look forward to Ken and his team joining Armstrong and leveraging our expertise in customer service, direct marketing, fleet management, and back-office operations to build a very successful mechanical contracting business.”
The Armstrong Group of Companies is a family-owned company based in Butler with businesses that include telecommunications, security, commercial real estate, food retail and electronics manufacturing.
