Police are looking for a man around the New Castle area who is considered ‘armed and dangerous.’
According to our news partners at WPXI-TV, officers tried to serve a warrant Thursday on convicted murderer 34-year-old Ernest Chapman, originally from Detroit.
When confronted by police, Chapman allegedly grabbed a gun, jumped into a car and made the driver flee police. The car eventually crashed near an elementary school that was put on lockdown. After a search, officers concluded that someone took Chapman out of the area.
Chapman was released from jail a few months ago but officers had warrants on him for parole violations.
Anyone with information about Chapman’s location should contact New Castle Police immediately.
