Applications to take part in Butler Township’s upcoming Citizens Police Academy are now being accepted.
The program begins on Jan. 19 and consists of seven classes held on consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Butler Township Park on Duffy Road and other locations around the township.
The program will include criminal law and investigations, patrol duties, use of force and the judicial system.
There is no charge for the program, which is open to the public, but space is limited to 15 people. Applications must be returned to the police office by Jan. 8.
