An equipment failure and a leaky pipe Thursday has resulted in a boil water advisory for some residents of northern Butler County.
Foxburg Water and Sewer Authority board member Gwen Atwood informed our newsroom Thursday afternoon that the advisory will be in effect for at least 24 hours through 5 p.m. Friday.
Crews found a pump that had not reset after the storm as it should have so water was not pumping to the tank as it should have to refill what was being taken out. Workers also located a small leak in the line which is anticipated to be repaired Friday morning.
Atwood said that there may be another leak though so crews are still checking elsewhere in the line.
