Students at 10 local elementary schools will have a new colorful place to sit and make friends.
Connoquenessing School was one of the stops for Acacia Woodley, also known as “Tiny Girl” and her mom, Monday afternoon as the 13-year-old presented a friendship kit including an anti-bullying bench to the school.
Connoquenessing principal Timothy Sisinni said that the bench will be placed near the playground and he hopes it will encourage students to help each other out as they continue the process of integrating after consolidation.
Benches were also presented at Chicora Elementary, Center Township, Emily Brittain, and Butler Middle School on Monday. Additional benches will be dedicated at Dassa McKinney, Summit Township, South Butler Primary, McQuistion, and Northwest Elementary Tuesday and Wednesday.
The benches cost $1,000 each and were purchased for the schools by local businesses and organizations. Acacia will be joining Dave Malarkey this Wednesday on It’s Your Turn on WISR 680 AM. Visit tinygirlbigdream.org for more information about this inspirational program.
