A new lawsuit has been filed against a now-closed Butler County residential youth home after allegations that another young child was sexually abused there.
The suit claims Glade Run Lutheran Services allowed the then 9-year-old boy to be subjected to repeated sexual assaults by the residents. The boy allegedly suffered “serious physical and psychological abuse” over an extended period of time, according to WPXI-TV.
The suit also claims staffers at Glade Run ignored the boy’s pleas for help with many overnight employees watching television or sleeping instead of watching over the children.
Glade Run Lutheran Services in Zelienople closed its residential youth home back in 2015 amid several abuse claims. A lawsuit was settled a month ago on behalf of another sexual assault victim.
The nonprofit continues to offer mental health and education services, according to their website.
