Butler County observed Veterans Day with several events over the weekend, and capped off the festivities with a parade on Monday morning downtown.
The parade got underway about 10:40 a.m. and was halted at exactly 11:11 a.m. for a moment of remembrance.
“Today is meant to be a celebration,” Cyprian said. “Memorial Day is much more solemn. Today is our fun day.”
The Veterans Day parade is typically a bit bigger than the Memorial Day parade, as communities county-wide send people to participate, instead of holding their own individual events like they do on Memorial Day.
Veterans from around the county participated, as well as several local groups and marching bands.
