A man in his 20s from Sarver is facing charges after he allegedly grabbed and groped a woman walking on a Butler City street.
Butler City Police arrested 26-year-old Kristofer Hura of Kepple Road after the alleged incident on Monday morning.
Police say it was just before 10 a.m. when a 25-year-old female said she was talking on the phone while walking on North Jackson Street when she noticed a white SUV driving towards her. She said the vehicle stopped and a driver leaned towards the passenger’s side and said something to her, but she didn’t recognize the driver or the vehicle so she kept walking.
The victim said she then heard footsteps running up behind her and then she was grabbed and slapped on the buttocks, according to a police criminal complaint.
She screamed and turned around, police say, and the man ran back towards the SUV, got in, and drove away.
After reviewing surveillance footage, city officers located Hura and his vehicle on North Church Street.
He is free on $10,000 bail and is due in court in late August.
