A bill to improve the convenience of buying wine and beer is moving on to the governor.
The State House of Representatives approved a Senate-amended plan Tuesday to allow for wine to be sold at grocery stores as well as some restaurants, hotels, and six-pack shops.
The bill would allow the Liquor Control Board to modernize operations at Wine and Spirits stores. It would also allow customers to be able to order wine online and have it shipped straight to their homes.
If Governor Tom Wolf signs the bill, the changes could take effect by this Thanksgiving.
